In 2004, Flavorite's turnover will exceed $20 million for the first time. On the edge of Warragul, in the heart of Gippsland, southern Victoria, not only a business, but an ‘industry’ was begun in 1994. This ‘industry’ has created many jobs throughout Australia and has trained many staff. It has prospered because it delivers a REAL product with REAL service. Flavorite has continually raised the bar and set benchmarks for the hydroponic industry. We have focussed on tomatoes that taste good, and we are rewarded when consumers all over Australia take time out to tell us we are achieving that goal.
Flavorite have built a 2 hectare Glasshouse to grow the best tasting tomatoes. It is the very first of its kind in Australia. It embodies Flavorite's achievements – record sales, meticulous management, product development, staff training, all backed up by a wonderful product and wonderful service. But more importantly, this Glasshouse carries the VISION. It is just the beginning. Flavorite is the leader and will continue to build more glasshouses – this has spurred others to try to keep up – by 2020, the vision tells us that over half of Australia’s tomatoes will be grown in glasshouses, generating sales of over $200 million and creating many thousands of jobs.
It started here in Warragul in 1994, and with the new 2 hectare glasshouse you will see the perpetuation of the vision.
On Friday 26th March we will celebrate the opening of this significant building in a glorious environment with 50,000 tomato plants and 1 million tomatoes.
One of the keys to Gippsland’s successful economic development for the future lies in this Glasshouse...
